The aim of cyber criminals is to steal data and money from the user with the false promise of giving them a job.

A new scam spreads through emails, simulating communication by a human resources department to contact the victim with a job offer, but the real goal is to steal data and money.

Email, message on social networks or call. The form of the new scam spreading across the Internet varies, but the goal is always the same: to trick the victim with a false job offer in order to steal their data and money.

The acting is also repetitive regardless of the format. The human resources department approaches the victim and offers a position that requires less responsibility but pays very well.

The message the victim receives includes the name of the company, the person claiming to speak on her behalf, and a previously sent CV inquiring about a job offer. It also describes the conditions, hours and salary.

At the end, the victim was asked to respond to the message to continue talking about the alleged job offer. In the case of telephone calls, this is an automated announcement lasting a few seconds that also asks the victim to contact them.

As the National Cybersecurity Institute (INSIB) has warned, the purpose of this scam is not only to obtain the victim’s personal data to carry out future targeted attack scams, but also to obtain their money, in some variations they have been identified as requesting an amount.
