The amazing story of Francesca Leonida from Paola, in the province of Cosenza, epitomizes the balancing act between a successful career and passion for sports.
By day, she delivers parcels in her hometown as a postwoman for the giant company Poste Italiane, but off the clock, Francesca kills it on volleyball courts across Italy. She has played both Serie B and Serie C championships.
From Postal Work to Volleyball Glory
Francesca’s dual career began with her passion for volleyball, which started when she was 10 years old. Her immediate talent and eagerness earned her a place in a regional representative team, launching her up the heights of volleyball.
Later, she would play in teams of Monza and then go back home to Calabria but never leave the courts. Francesca has managed to cope with the demands of her job and volleyball, attaining excellence in both the realms.
The Power of Sports in Everyday Life
For Francesca, sports taught life lessons that turned out to be useful in professional life. “Sports help in internalizing behaviors and values useful in everyday life, including work,” she explains.
She intends to continue her career with Poste Italiane and would like, in the near future, to join the Quality Sector-a role that fits with her passion for continuous improvement and teamwork.
Poste Italiane: More Than a Job
She knows she can hold her head high because she is part of a company like Poste Italiane, where teamwork and shared values are at its core.
The company underlines that a common culture based on respect, collaboration, and shared goals is what Francesca would live with every passing day both inside and outside the volleyball playground.
