For the first time in over two decades, sports clubs in Tarancón have taken direct control of managing the Sports Schools, each handling their respective discipline. The clubs are responsible for hiring coaches, collecting fees, and managing federative licenses where required. The Sports Schools in Tarancón have officially begun with the start of the school year, coinciding with the end of local festivities.
While the program formally started on Monday, the 16th of September, it will take a few more days, with most schools fully operational by the first week of October.
Football Kicks Off First
Football was the first sport to begin its sessions. Under the management of CD Tarancón, sessions were held at both the San Isidro Field and the Municipal Stadium. The school organized players into different groups based on age, and assigned a coach to each. Additionally, they selected students for teams that will compete in the Inter-School League and Somos Deporte, focusing on various youth categories.
CD Tarancón now manages the football programs, overseeing participants from the youngest categories up to the team competing in the Third Federation. They aim to return to the Regional Cadet League, from which they were relegated last season, in the near future.
Other Sports Schools Starting
The Atletismo Tarancón Club has also started its athletics program at the Municipal Stadium, organizing groups for track and field. Additionally, the Runners School has commenced operations.
The Basketball School, which also has a large number of students, is set to field teams in the Cadet League, as well as in the U19 and Somos Deporte categories. There is also a women’s team.
By early October, other sports such as chess, archery, table tennis, roller skating, swimming, and lifesaving will begin their seasons.
