The 2 most anticipated films hit theaters this week. Alia Bhatt and Vedang Rain’s ‘Jigra’ and Rajkummar Rao-Trupti Dimri’s ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’, the audience was eagerly waiting for the release of these films which have now hit theatres. The audience was very curious even before the trailers of these two films were released, but now that the film has been released, something different seems to be happening at the box office. The makers of both films had high expectations for the film, but it failed to live up to expectations at the box office. So let us know who won the box office battle between Jigra and Vicky Vidya’s film.
Jigra’s box office collection
Alia Bhatt is counted among the most talented actresses in the industry, having proven her talent in films ranging from Gangubai Kathiawadi to Raazi. Alia’s film ‘Jigra’ was released on October 11 and received mixed reactions from the audience. Vedang Raina, along with Alia, also plays an important role in this film. However, in terms of box office, it did not live up to the makers’ expectations. On the first day, Jigra earned Rs 4 crore 55 lakh at the box office and now on the second day too, the earnings of the film have not increased significantly.
Jigra’s second day earnings
Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s Jigra collected Rs 5 crore 50 lakh at the box office on its second day of release. With this, the film’s total earnings in 2 days reached Rs 11 crore 15 lakh. It was believed that it would be Alia’s best solo opener, but in terms of earnings it is inferior even to Raazi released in 2019. Meghna Gulzar’s film, which had Alia in the lead role, collected Rs 18.83 crore in two days.
This movie with Vicky Vidya
Apart from Jigra, Rajkumar Rao and Trupti Dimri’s ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ has also released in theatres. After the huge success of ‘Stree 2’, Rajkumar Rao has entered the audience with his new film. The makers hoped that just like Stree 2 worked on the audience, Rajkummar Rao’s magic will also work on Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala music video, but the film’s collection figures are a bit disappointing.
Rajkumar Rao movie collection
Vicky Vidya’s film ‘Woh’ grossed Rs 5 crore 25 lakh on the first day, while on the second day the film grossed Rs 6 crore 75 lakh. With this, the film’s total earnings have reached Rs 12 crore, which is still more than Alia Bhatt’s Jigra collection.
