Alia Bhatt’s film ‘Jigra’ will hit the theaters on Friday, October 11. This film starred Rajkumar Rao and Trupti Dimri in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’. Meanwhile, there is confusion surrounding the box office collection of “Jigra”. Two famous names from the industry are at loggerheads over the film’s collection. The war of words between the film’s co-producers Karan Johar and Divya Khosla over Jigra’s box office collection has intensified. It all started with Divya’s post on the ‘Jigra’ collection, in which she called the figurines from the film’s collection fake. Following Divya Khosla’s post, ‘Jigra’ producer Karan Johar also took to his Instagram story to term such posts as irrelevant. Though she didn’t mention Divya’s name in her post, the actress couldn’t live without replying to the post.
Divya and Karan’s war of words
Recently, Divya took to Instagram to share a photo of an empty cinema hall and called Alia’s film collection a lie. Karan Johar then responded by sharing the story on his official Instagram account. Thus, without naming anyone, he stated that “silence is the best answer for fools.” Shortly after Karana’s post, Divya also posted a cryptic post. Without naming anyone, he wrote: “The truth provokes fools.” In another story he wrote: “When other people’s things are shamelessly stolen and taken, the best way to survive is to remain silent. People like that have no voice or backbone.”
Why is Divya angry with the makers of Jigra?
Actually, ‘Savi’ was released in May this year, starring Divya Khosla in the lead role. The plot of this film was based on the theme of prison escape, where a wife does everything to free her husband from prison. On the other hand, the story of the recently released ‘Jigra’ is also based on the jailbreak theme. However, both films differ in their plot. Ever since the trailer of the film was released, Divya’s PR team has been accusing Jigra of stealing Savi’s story.
Jigra’s box office collection
As far as Jigra’s box office collection is concerned, the film did not perform well in two days. The film collected Rs 4 crore 55 lakh on Friday. On its second day, the film grossed ₹6 crore 55 lakh. On the third day, it earned Rs 5.65 crore. In such a situation, the film earned Rs 16.75 crore in its first weekend.
