When Rajesh became a debtor
When Rajesh Kumar decided to become a farmer, he had to go through some difficult times. The actor said he tried to seek help from many friends, some helped him as clients, but others did not respond and ignored his calls. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, he said, “When I became a farmer, I had a loan of over Rs 1.5 crore. My friends and family spent an entire year on this journey, which was the hardest time of my life. I was answerable to the people who lent me the money, which included my family, the farmers and my wife.
Rejected on Shark Tank, but invited to a movie
Rajesh also said that his startup failed and he had to sell vegetables to earn money. She remembers setting up a vegetable stand in front of her son’s school, where his son asked teachers to buy vegetables. The actor then revealed that he tried to appear on Shark Tank India but was not successful there either. He said, “I applied for Shark Tank India. I passed two of the three rounds. I also had to submit my videos, so I thought maybe I would get some benefit since I was a well-known face. Here is an actor who is a social entrepreneur and talks about agriculture. Rajesh said that just before he left for Shark Tank, he received a call from the “Haddie” team saying that the director and casting team wanted to meet with him. At that moment, he was nervous and less confident. He said, “Just before I left for Shark Tank India, I received a call from Haddi and they wanted to meet me. My confidence was so shaken that when I went to his office to meet with the casting director, he told me that the director would meet with me. I thought he was going to audition me, then he said the production guys would discuss money, I thought, OK, I’ll audition later. Then he said, “Lord, you have been confirmed.” He then said, “I thought, but what about my audition? They said we only want you with us. The director’s only request was if I could shave my head. I said I can do it if you give me an extra lakh, and I did.
