The Civil Guard searches a person for having a Boa Constrictor Imperatoat his home in Villalbilla (Madrid), illegally.

The protection of these and other species of plants and animals is included in Council Regulation (EC) No. 338/97, of December 9, 1996, related to the protection of wild species of animals and plants through the control of their trade, as well as in Royal Decree 139/2011, of February 4, preparing the List of Wild Species under the Special Protection Regime and the Spanish Catalog of Endangered Species.
