Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability Take Center Stage on Day One of the Thinking Football Summit at Super Bock Arena, Porto
Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability are once again at the forefront with The Football Foundation – Liga Portugal, this time as part of the Thinking Football Summit, a major professional football forum. The third edition of the event will take place from September 12 to 14 at the Super Bock Arena in Porto.
The 2nd International Conference on Sports Foundations is a key feature, kicking off three days of exciting industry discussions. The event begins at 2:00 p.m.
Ten speakers, drawing from their national and international experiences, will share best practices in social and environmental interventions, highlighting the power of sport.
Marisa Nobre, Director of Marketing and Communication at EGF, will discuss sustainability in football with Christopher Jahns of XU Sustainable, Carolina Pettersson Ruiz from Twenty 7, and Marc Leckie from the Tottenham Foundation. Their panel will showcase how football, like other economic activities, must adapt to new sustainability reporting standards, with technology playing a crucial role.
From the UK, where the Premier League inspires fans globally, Steve Beharall of the Newcastle Foundation, Mike McSweeney of the Fulham Foundation, and Kenneth Shepherd of Soccer Aid will explore the Power of Football, moderated by Ana Sereno, Brand and Communication Director at Allianz.
In a discussion on Football and Sports Betting: Reflection and Future Lines, comedian Guilherme Geirinhas will engage with Ricardo Domingues, President of APAJO (Portuguese Association of Online Betting and Gaming), focusing on betting as an entertainment industry and addressing challenges related to sports integrity and responsible gaming.
Later, Zoe Kalar of Weare8, Jurgen Griesbeck of Common Goal, and Nádia Reis from Missão Continente will join Luis Vicente, Chairman of APEX, to discuss strategies that emphasize Football as an Inclusive Experience.
