A video is going viral in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh. There is a rumor that on the evening of Dussehra, a woman burnt effigies of her husband, aunt, uncle and daughter-in-law in the form of Ravana.
In fact last Saturday the festival of Vijayadashami was celebrated with great pomp all over India. However, in Muskra town of Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a woman burnt effigies of her own husband, aunt, uncle, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
This unprecedented burning has become a topic of discussion in Maskara, district. A video of this unique burning of Ravana is going viral.
Priyanka, who lives in Muskara town, got married to Sanjeev Dixit fourteen years ago. As her husband was already having an affair with his sister’s friend Pushpanjali, Sanjeev left Priyanka after a few days and started living in a live-in relationship with a girl named Pushpanjali.
Knowing this, Priyanka protested. But since the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law did not agree, she had to move back and forth for the last 14 years.
That’s why she made an effigy of her husband today on Vijayadashami and burnt it in front of his house to send a message that people like Ravana should be banished from the society.
The victim, Priyanka Dixit, said that even though it has been 14 years since she got married, her exile is not over yet.
Pleading with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for justice, Priyanka said that the Yogi government is running ‘Beti Padao, Beti Bachao’ campaign and is not protecting the educated daughter today. The victim demanded that the government should do justice and take strict action against the accused.
