Uttar Pradesh Railway ADG Prakash D reached Saharanpur and inspected the railway station thoroughly. During this inspection, he also held an important meeting with GRP, RPF and Civil Police. Speaking in a press conference, he said that after becoming the ADG of Railways, he is touring Western Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, he also inspected Ghaziabad and Meerut and gave necessary instructions to the officials concerned there as well. He also said that strict legal action will be taken against those who tampered with the railway line in any way.

ADG Prakash D appealed to all citizens to immediately report any suspicious objects on any railway track to the nearest police station or post. He issued orders to tighten security keeping in mind the upcoming festivals. Apart from this, necessary instructions were also given to the officials of Saharanpur in view of the Haryana assembly elections.

A joint patrolling plan will be worked on

It is reported that GRP and RPF are working hard for the safety of railway tracks, safety of trains and safety of passengers. In some recent incidents, they tried to place stones, wood and iron objects on the railway tracks. In this context, in a review meeting held in Ghaziabad, GRP, RPF, Railway and Civil Police officials decided to jointly work on the patrolling plan. A similar joint patrol was agreed at a meeting in Saharanpur, in which the GRP, RPF, Civil Police and other security agencies would jointly monitor sensitive areas.

Sensitive areas are plotted on Google Map

Prakash D said that sensitive areas are being identified in western Uttar Pradesh and these areas are being plotted on Google map for security reasons. Security agencies conduct regular patrols there. The officials were directed to strictly follow the guidelines of the Election Commission regarding the assembly elections to be held on October 5 and counting of votes on October 8 in Haryana. Meetings have already been held in the border areas for this purpose, in which the GRP in-charge of Yamunanagar in Haryana also participated.

‘If you see anything left on the track, inform the police’

On the use of CCTV cameras under the Trinetra scheme, he said that more CCTV cameras are being installed in sensitive areas with the cooperation of the people. Besides, the information system is being strengthened so that suspicious activities can be stopped immediately. He appealed to the public to immediately inform the police or railway authorities if anyone tries to throw stones, wood or any other object on the railway tracks.

He said that some of the incidents reported so far were done by children while playing or with the intention of getting trolls on social media. In some cases, children placed coins or other objects on the tracks to see what would happen to them as they hit the train wheels. However, these incidents are being taken seriously and legal action is being taken in all cases. Security agencies are working together to ensure the safety of railway tracks in western Uttar Pradesh.
