Perugia: 2 Golds and 2 Silvers for the Firefighters at the Italian Interforces Shooting Championship

On September 11 and 12, a total of 163 specialists competed at the Tav Umbriaverde-Todi range in Massa Martana (Perugia) for the finals of the Italian Interforces Shooting Championship.

The Italian National Firefighters Team (VV.F.) and G.S. VV.F. Fiamme Rosse delivered an excellent performance, securing four medals in total, including two golds and two silvers in various categories and disciplines.

In the Olympic Trap event, Federico Tesei from the Perugia Fire Department won gold in the second category, scoring 117/125 in qualification and 22/25 in the final. He was followed by Luca Sparamonti (Navy) and Silvio Micali (Carabinieri).

In the third category, Antonino Calafiore from the Reggio Calabria Fire Department took home another gold with a score of 109/125 in qualification and 22/25+1 in the final, ahead of Giuseppe Davide Salerno (Army) and Fabrizio Rinaldi (Air Force).

In the “retired personnel” category, Renzo Pizzinato (Pordenone) earned a silver medal, with a score of 111/125+2 in qualification and 22/25 in the final. Diego Meoni from G.S. VV.F. Fiamme Rosse performed well in the Olympic Excellence category, finishing in a commendable fourth place after a close contest for the podium.

In the Skeet event, third-category competitor Marzio Audino, a member of the Firefighters’ Band, claimed the second-place podium with a score of 86/125.

The awards ceremony saw the presence of Luciano Rossi, President of FITAV and ISSF, Prof. Lamberto Cignitti, Head of the Office for Sports Activities, and representatives from all Armed Forces and State Bodies in the competition.
