Costa Rican athlete Sherman Guity claimed gold in the T64 200 meters at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, setting a new Paralympic record.

In an unforgettable race at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Sherman Guity, a standout sprinter from Costa Rica, won the gold medal in the 200 meters in the T64 category, clocking an impressive 12.32 seconds, setting a new Paralympic record in the process.

The race was nothing short of electrifying, with Guity seizing the lead halfway through the event. His remarkable burst of speed allowed him to outpace his fiercest competitor, Felix Streng of Germany, a prominent contender in sprint events.

This victory marks Sherman Guity’s fourth Paralympic medal and his third gold. In the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, he had already secured the gold in the 200 meters and silver in the 100 meters.

At the Paris Games, Guity took home gold in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, achieving Paralympic records in both races, further cementing his dominance in track events held at the Stade de France.
