Unless the government changes, incidents like this will not be controlled. Information should also be provided regarding what songs are played during the procession and whether these songs are used to spread hatred in society.

Regarding the Bahraich incident, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said it was unfortunate that the government was inactive amidst the violence in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. He appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to take strict action against the culprits. A youth was killed in violence that broke out during a Durga statue procession in the Maharajganj area of Mansoor village in Bahraich. The controversy started over playing music from loudspeakers. About half a dozen people were injured in stone-throwing and shooting and 30 people have been detained. Meanwhile, on Monday, mobs took to the streets and torched several shops, further escalating tensions. Some of the crowd carried sticks and iron rods.
