Due to continuous rains in Nepal, there are floods in many districts. At least 39 people died as a result of the flood. Rain has been falling in many parts of Nepal since Friday. Disaster officials have warned of flash floods in many districts of Nepal.
9 people died in the capital Kathmandu
According to local media reports, 9 people died in Kathmandu, 16 people in Lalitpur, 5 people in Bhaktapur, 3 people in Kawarepalan Chowk, two people each in Panchthar and Dhankuta, and one person each in Jhapa and Dhading. A total of 11 people disappeared in the flood.
226 houses submerged in Kathmandu
Police said 226 houses had been submerged in Kathmandu. A rescue team consisting of around 3,000 security personnel has been deployed by the Nepal Police in the affected areas. People were sent to safe places in the rain.
The flight was canceled amid heavy rain
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal on Friday canceled all domestic flights until Saturday morning due to bad weather conditions in the country. This comes as Nepal’s weather forecast division has issued a red alert for four consecutive days. 56 of Nepal’s 77 districts were hit by heavy rains.
Vehicle movement also stopped at night
With a red alert, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Authority (NDRRMA) has stopped vehicular movement at night for two days. The weather forecast division has issued rain warnings in many districts. Monsoon winds affect the entire country in many districts of Nepal.
