This September 28, Razer held its flagship digital event celebrating gamer culture at an exhibition where the company showcased new brand products to enhance the experience of gamers around the world. From the world’s first cushion with haptic technology to a new version of the flagship headphones, RazerCon 2024 was loaded with news from the triple crossed snake company.
Razer Freyja is the world’s first gaming cushion with haptic technology. This pioneering device is designed to significantly enhance sensory experiences, transforming gaming into a fully immersive journey. It features a technology called Razer Sensa HD Haptics, an advanced system that lets you feel every detail of the game.
It has six haptic motors arranged to provide accurate multi-directional feedback. These motors are strategically placed to simulate interactions in vivid detail, improving spatial awareness by allowing the direction, distance and intensity of game events to be felt in different parts of the body.
On the other hand, the brand has also introduced the new Razer Kraken V4 Pro, a new version of the brand’s flagship headphones. Joining the recently released Kraken V4 and Kraken V4 Control Hub acts as a centralized command center right at your fingertips and offers over 20 customization options. Manage audio and haptic settings or customize the home screen that includes displaying system metrics or even upload custom images and animations.
They also feature Razer Sensa HD haptics technology that enhances gameplay by converting precise audio signals and gaming actions into subtle haptic feedback, creating a layer of vivid immersion. This integration not only relies on audio signals, but also directly supports major titles like ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ and the upcoming ‘Silent Hill 2’, improving both spatial awareness and game intensity. This technology ensures that every subtle step or thunderous roar is felt, bringing you closer to the action than ever before. They are compatible with both wired and Bluetooth for all platforms be it PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch or mobile devices.
Razer Laptop Cooling Pad
For players with gaming laptops, the new Razer Laptop Cooling Pad is ideal for long gaming sessions. This adaptive smart cooling fan automatically adjusts fan speed based on the temperature of key components for optimal noise-to-performance ratio with minimal effort.
The cooling pad also has a multi-function button that can be remapped to control fan speed and Razer Chroma RGB lighting adorning the front of the stand. Through Razer Synapse, users can access preset or custom fan curves for automated cooling efficiency. To ensure long-term use, a dust filter is included to reduce foreign contaminants introduced as the fan cools the systems over time.
Razor Synapse 4
In the announcement, Razer officially launched the new Razer Synapse 4 app, which includes support for the Razer Kraken V4 Pro and Razer Freyja. With a remarkable 30% increase in overall processing speed compared to its predecessor, Synapse 4 allows gamers to perform useful tasks like creating macros, configuring settings and installing drivers more efficiently. The new multi-threaded architecture improves system stability by compartmentalizing devices, ensuring that installing or updating one device does not disrupt the performance of others.
Synapse 4 also features a modernized user interface designed for easy navigation and streamlined customization, including floating instructions and centralized configuration management. It’s compatible with Synapse 3 devices and includes popular Synapse 3 features like Razer Hypershift, which allows a single button to temporarily unlock a set of additional functions on top of existing button mappings, Rapid Trigger for quick, effortless presses, and advanced macros. To execute critical button presses with a single click.
The Synapse 4 update introduces features such as 1 DPI step adjustments to achieve pixel-perfect sensitivity with single-step DPI increments, Intelligent Sensitivity Calibration to accurately transfer DPI settings across Razer mice, and improved Asymmetric Slicing, which allows players to adjust both mice. Takeoff and landing distances are more accurate, tailoring settings to exact game preferences.
Synapse 4 allows users to enable Razer Snap Tap, improving keyboard responsiveness by prioritizing the last input between two selected keys without having to release the previous key. Initially available on the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro line of analog gaming keyboards, Synapse 4 now allows fans to enable Snap Tap on more Razer keyboards and even Razer Blade gaming laptops.
