Spam calls from telemarketing or telephone scams have become a constant annoyance for mobile device users.
Although a provision of the General Telecommunications Act came into effect on June 29, 2023, requiring companies to obtain express consent to make these types of calls, many continue to flout the rules and contact consumers without permission. As a result, users suffer from unwanted interruptions.
A useful tool to reduce these practices in Spain is the ‘Robinson List’, an advertising opt-out service. Signing up for this list can help reduce the number of telemarketing calls you receive, as companies must consult this database before calling you.
However, not all of them respect this list and many users continue to receive unwanted calls.
