(CNN) – A senior Hezbollah official, Wafiq Safa, survived Thursday night’s Israeli strikes in central Beirut, a source in the fighting group told CNN.
Safa was the target of an Israeli attack in Lebanon’s capital, according to a Hezbollah source and Israeli media reports.
Safa is a political officer who heads Hezbollah’s communications division, tasked with managing the Iranian-backed group’s domestic and international affairs.
Israel has not publicly claimed responsibility for Thursday’s attacks or confirmed any targets.
