Tel Aviv: The Israeli army launches heavy bombardment on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. Meanwhile, the Israeli military claimed to have killed a Hezbollah drone pilot in an airstrike on a residential building on the outskirts of Beirut. The name of the killed leader is Muhammad Hussein Sorour. But Hezbollah did not immediately comment on Israel’s allegations.

An air strike on a suburb of Beirut

Israel launched a large-scale air strike on Hezbollah targets. A Lebanese Hezbollah television channel reported an Israeli air strike on a Beirut suburb. But Al-Manar TV did not provide details about the attack. But the Israeli army claimed that it attacked southern Beirut.

Earlier, the commander of the missile unit died

The attack came two days after a similar attack that led to the killing of a senior commander in Hezbollah’s missile unit. At the same time, a far-right ally in the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to withdraw from the alliance if a permanent ceasefire was reached with Hezbollah. Itamar Ben Gvir, head of the Jewish Power Party, threatened to suspend cooperation with the coalition if a temporary agreement was reached. He said: “If the temporary ceasefire becomes permanent, we will resign from the government.”

This is the latest sign of the hard-line Netanyahu government’s dissatisfaction with international ceasefire efforts. If Ben Gvir leaves the coalition, Netanyahu will lose his parliamentary majority and his government may collapse, although opposition leaders have said they will support the ceasefire agreement.
