Kathmandu: Today, the Vijayadashami festival is celebrated with great pomp in India as well as in Nepal. He also appealed to them to help those affected by recent disasters return to their normal lives. The President wished peace, prosperity and happiness to all Nepalese on the tenth day of Dasai, the largest Hindu festival in Nepal. The Prime Minister also wished cooperation and harmony among all citizens. Here in India too, Dussehra is celebrated today. Prime Minister Modi and President Draupadi Murmu wished the people of the country on the Day of Victory of Truth over Lies.

In a statement, Oli appealed to all Nepalis to provide personal assistance to those affected by the disaster to return to normal life. He assured the people of the necessary assistance from the government to those who miraculously survived the disaster. Recently, due to heavy rains, many parts of Nepal were exposed to floods and landslides, killing 240 people and displacing thousands of others. Vijaya Dashami began on October 3. It is known here as Dasai. On the first day, Kalash known as Ghatasthapana was created and barley seeds, which is called “Jumra”, were sown.

A huge celebration of Dehshahr in Nepal

There is a big celebration of Dussehra in Nepal. The festival continues until the full moon of Kojagrita (Kogara), which falls on October 17 this year. Every year many people who work in Kathmandu Valley return to their homes for Dhasin. The Nepal National Transport Pioneers Union had initially estimated that about 18,000 passengers from the Valley would go home by road. The Kathmandu Post newspaper quoted federation president Bijay Suwar as saying that only 13,000 people had gone home since the first day of the festival. He said: The reason for the decrease in the number of passengers is the damage to the roads due to floods and landslides following heavy rains on September 27 and 28. (language)
