In the past few days, bomb threats on aircraft have increased rapidly in India. According to PTI, a bomb threat message was received on social media platform X on Tuesday on seven aircraft. After that, the security services were forced to conduct anti-terrorism training at several airports. Meanwhile, big news is now also coming from Singapore. Here, an Air India Express plane, which received a bomb threat, had to scramble fighter jets to land safely.
Two fighter planes were sent
Singaporean Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen tweeted on Tuesday that Air India Express had received an email stating that flight AXB684 to Singapore contained a bomb. Two Singapore Air Force F-15SG fighter jets then took off and steered the aircraft away from populated areas. The plane then landed safely at Changi Airport in Singapore at around 10.04pm.
The investigation into the plane continues
Our ground-based air defenses and so on have been activated,” the Singapore Defense Minister said. After landing on the ground, the Air India plane was handed over to the airport police. The plane is being investigated. The Singaporean Defense Minister thanked the Air Force for this work.
The Air India plane also landed in Canada
On the other hand, another Air India flight from Delhi to Chicago was diverted towards Iqaluit Airport in Canada. This information was provided by the airline official. On October 15, 2024, flight AI127 from Delhi to Chicago landed at Iqaluit Airport in Canada after a security threat. Meanwhile, an IndiGo flight from Daman to Lucknow received a bomb threat, after which the plane made an emergency landing at Jaipur airport.
