New Delhi: India has taken strict action against the attack on more than 35 Durga Puja men in Bangladesh and the theft of the golden crown given by Prime Minister Modi from the temple. Today, the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong warning to Bangladesh’s Charge d’Affaires Muhammad Yunus in this regard. The Ministry of External Affairs expressed “grave concern” over reports of attack on Durga Puja Pandal and robbery at Kali Temple in Bangladesh, and asked the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of Hindus and all other minorities and their places of worship in the country.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these incidents as “deserving of condemnation.” He also said that these incidents come in the wake of a “planned conspiracy to desecrate” temples and deities in Bangladesh. “We have expressed our grave concern over the attack on the Puja temple at Tatebazar in Dhaka and the robbery incident at the prestigious Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple in Satkhira,” the ministry said. Fedayeen are widely decorated in Bangladesh
There is a tradition of decorating Durga Puja fidayeen on a large scale in Bangladesh. But after the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, attacks on Hindus and their religious places intensified. Friday was the ninth and final day of Navratri, the nine holy days for Hindus. Durga Puja is also celebrated during this period, which culminates with Dussehra or Vijayadashami on the 10th day.
