Dubai/Beirut: Lebanon also confirmed the killing of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah today. Hezbollah said in a statement that its leader, Nasrallah, was killed. It also announced that it would continue its fight against Israel “in support of Gaza, Palestine, Lebanon and its honorable people.” After the death of Hassan Nasrallah, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called on Muslims to unite and wage war against Israel.
Today, Israel announced that it killed Nasrallah in an air strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut the day before. After the announcement of Nasrallah’s death, Hezbollah’s Al-Manar channel began broadcasting Quranic verses. Nasrallah led Hezbollah in its decades-long conflict with Israel. He also formed an effective military force in the region and cared for its people. Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee wrote in a statement on Twitter: “Israeli forces killed Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization.”
