Bangladesh Goddess Kali Stolen Crown: On the one hand in Bangladesh, while Durga Puja is celebrated everywhere during Navratri, on the other hand, the crown of Goddess Kali was stolen from the Jeshoreshwari temple in Shyam Nagar in Satkhira. This crown was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When Prime Minister Modi visited Bangladesh in March 2021, he presented this crown after visiting the goddess at Jeshoreshwari Temple. At present, the police are investigating the matter.
What did the Indian High Commission say?
Meanwhile, the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh on the social media platform expressed its concern and urged the Bangladesh government to investigate the theft, recover the crown and take action against the culprits.
Information provided to the police
It is believed that this crown theft incident took place on Thursday around 2 to 2.30 pm, when priest Dilip Mukherjee went home after performing puja rituals during the day. Later, when the cleaning crew saw that the crown was missing from Goddess Kali’s head. The incident was then reported to the police.
The police are investigating
After the crown was stolen from the temple, the police began an investigation. The police are constantly searching for the thief. “We are checking the temple’s CCTV cameras to identify the thief,” said Inspector Taijul Islam of Shyamnagar police station.
Crown specialty
The crown presented by Prime Minister Modi to the temple was made of silver and covered with gold. According to Hindu belief, Jeshoreshwari Temple is one of the 51 Shaktipet temples located in India and neighboring countries.
