The young athlete, registered with Pattinaggio Riccione, competed in the Freestyle Slide category and achieved an impressive fifth place.

The World Skating Championships returned to Italy this year, organized by the Italian Federation of Roller Sports and the World Skate Federation. The event features 100 participating countries, over 12,000 athletes, and 12 disciplines across four regions (Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Piedmont, and Abruzzo). While the competitions are still ongoing, Coriano is already making waves.

On September 11th in Rome, the Skateboarding discipline showcased young Andrea Mandolesi from Coriano, born in 2007. The young athlete, competing in the Freestyle Slide category, achieved an excellent fifth place finish.

In addition, on September 11th and 13th, the artistic skating competition highlighted Benedetta Altezza, born in 1997. The young skater from Naples won the gold medal in the senior individual women’s category with a spectacular performance. She is trained by Elia Campagna, a multi-time European champion in artistic roller skating and president of the Adriatic Skatelab Association, the first and only skating school in Coriano.

“Participating in these competitions must be an incredible experience, regardless of the result,” commented Anna Pecci, Coriano’s Sports Councillor. “With continued training, I’m sure Andrea will achieve great results in the future. Hard work and dedication always pay off. As for Elia, who has already reached many milestones, I can only wish him continued success!”

For those interested in getting on skates, open days for artistic skating are currently taking place at the Palasic venue on Via Piane.
